RADFORD UNIVERSITY DIVISION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Reporting Specialist (#00114) Radford University offers a highly diverse curriculum for over 8,400 undergraduate and 1,070 graduate students. Located in the city of Radford, VA (pop. 16,500), 36 miles southwest of Roanoke in the New River Valley (pop. 165,146) in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Radford is approximately 3-1/2 hours from Richmond, VA; less than 2 hours from Winston-Salem, NC; and 4-1/2 hours from Washington, D.C. The Division of Information Technology at Radford University in Radford, Virginia is in the process of building a Data Warehouse and Reporting Team and invites applications for the position of Reporting Specialist. The Reporting Specialist (Information Technology Specialist II, #00114) engineers and administers a reporting strategy/environment designed to effectively meet the reporting requirements of the university including data modeling; Cognos framework analysis, development and implementation; and Cognos software monitoring and performance management. Develops and documents reports by providing analysis, technical specifications and accurate timelines to satisfy requests for development. Creates and enhances reports and provides end user support. Trains technical and functional users as needed. Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with enterprise reporting from SunGard HE Banner, Operational Data Store and Enterprise Data Warehouse is desirable. Cognos 8, Oracle 10g and Linux preferred. Demonstrated development knowledge with PL/SQL and C. Excellent customer service, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of knowledge and education. Compensation: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
