Description:

JOB PURPOSE:
Under limited supervision, perform duties of a business analyst and modeler using Unified Modeling Language (UML) for visualizing, specifying, constructing, and documenting the Object Oriented Application Design (OOAD) artifacts of a software-intensive system. Document a system's blueprints, including business processes and system functions.

JOB DUTIES:
Business Analyst: Essential/45%
Work in a team environment with customer stakeholders and business areas to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. Recommend solutions that enable the customer organization to achieve its goals.

Modeler: Essential/45%
Model business processes using UML. Modeling can include Use Case, Activity, Sequence, State, Class and Interaction diagrams and will be based on business process documentation captured in sessions with business subject matter experts.

Communications: Essential/10%
Communicate verbally and in written form with technical and non-technical staff on business and functional requirements. Write status reports and other project reports to end users and management on daily/weekly work. Communicate with customers directly.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
B.S. in computer science or related field and 3 years of experience in computer system development and modification; or Associate degree in computer science or a related field and 5 years of experience in computer system development and modification; or a high school diploma and 7 years of experience in computer system development and modification.

Preferred IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM:
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience using one or more formal UML 2.0 modeling tools. Experience with Object Oriented Application Design (OOAD) using UML. Experience with at least one object oriented programming language.
Minimum 2 years experience with and knowledge of business requirements and ways to translate them into well-engineered and integrated technical solutions. Experience with Requirements Management techniques and tools.
Experience with creating story-boards and prototypes.
Ability to share knowledge of UML and OOAD with team members.
Experience in a health related industry is a plus.

PAY & WORK SCHEDULE
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 36,840.00 - $ 68,160.00)
This is a 12 month, FULL TIME – TIME LIMITED POSITION.
Employees who are in time limited positions will earn one and one-quarter days of Annual and Sick Leave per month for a total of thirty (30) days per year.
