RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing network services to the MTSU academic and administrative communities, including but not limited to academic computer labs, faculty and administrative PC’s, and all networks. Must have ability to maintain the functional operation of all network components, provide support to network users by installing hardware and software in LANs, and support special projects in accordance with other duties as assigned. Will assist with management and expansion of the campus-wide network. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate of Science in computer technology or related technical degree and three years extensive experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks
OR
B.S. Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related technically-oriented area and one year extensive experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks
OR
in lieu of degree five years extensive experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks. Strong communication skills, oral and written.
Experience with TCP/IP, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet
Expereince with switching and routing platforms and protocols.
Experience with operating systems including Windows XP, Windows Vista, and MacOS. |
